To ensure the best overall treatment, the American Association of Orthodontists, or AAO, recommends that children receive an orthodontic consultation as early as age seven. If a problem is evident, taking action early can spare a lot of treatment and expense down the road.

When Should A Child See An Orthodontist? Dr. Champlin Explains

This is important, because children are going quite differently than they were just 30 years ago. We recommend you schedule an initial consultation for your child about the time when their permanent teeth are just starting to erupt.
